Greeting

Nikki, established in 1932 as the first manufacturer of carburetors, has contributed to the development of the world by engaging in the development of products and technologies centered on engine fuel supply systems and by creating the products which protect and conserve the global environment through the effective use of resources.
As efforts toward carbon neutral society have been accelerating these days, the automobile industry is now undergoing technological innovation and in the midst of a major change said to be a revolutionary period once in 100 years.
We have been and will be taking on the challenges of business opportunities for advanced technologies related to electricity and hydrogen in order to respond to changes that are not extensions of the past. In addition, we will keep on struggling to create new business fields.
In the midst of rapid and major changes, we will continue to transform and take on challenges to create a New Nikki so that we can grow as a company and as a member of it as well.

History of the Company

1932

Established as Nippon Carburetor Co., Ltd. in February with capital of 40,000 yen, the first carburetor factory in Japan.

1933

Development of carburetors for automobile and aircraft engines.

1935

In February, the Shinagawa head office factory was completed (three-story wooden structure).

1946

Development of carburetors and fuel pumps for automobile and agricultural engines.

1952

Increased the capital to 20 million yen in March.

1956

Development of a two-stage, two-barrel carburetor for automobiles.

1960

Increased the capital to 50 million yen in January and to 100 million yen in October. Opened a branch in Nagoya in January and in Hiroshima in April.

1961

Completed the Headquarters factory in July. Increased the capital to 150 million yen in August.
Started over the counter trade of stock at second section of Tokyo Stock Exchange.

1962

Increased the capital to 250 million yen in March.

1963

Development of an LPG carburetion system for automobiles. Purchased land for a factory in Atsugi, Kanagawa.

1964

Increased the capital to 500 million yen in December. Development of a two-stage, four-barrel carburetor.

1967

Built the Atsugi factory and started operation from September.

1969

Development of a two-stage, four-barrel carburetor for rotary engines.

1973

Development of a carburetor to meet automobile air pollution regulations.

1981

Started export of carburetors for general purpose engines to America.

1982

Development of an electronically controlled carburetor for automobiles and a throttle body for automobiles.

1984

Development of an electronic fuel injection system for automobiles.

1985

Development of a power valve for automobiles. Development of an outboard marine carburetor.

1986

Development of an LPG feedback system for automobiles.
Development of an electronic governor for forklifts.

1987

Development of electronic control units for automobile engines.

1988

Merged the Shinagawa factory with the Atsugi factory in May.

1989

Established Nikki Techno Co., Ltd. in October.

1991

Development of a compressed natural gas fuel system.

1994

Moved the Headquarters to Atsugi in October.

1995

Established Shenyang Rixin Carburetor Corporation in China.

1998

Obtained ISO 9001 certification.
Established Nikki America, Inc. in Illinois, America.

2000

Obtained QS 9000 certification.
Established Changzhou Guangri Precision Machinery Co., Ltd. in China.

2001

Changed the name of the company to Nikki Co., Ltd.

Obtained ISO 14001 certification.
Opened a liaison office in Korea in April.

Opened a liaison office in Shanghai in April.

Environmental Policy

1. In order to respond to the challenges of SDGs adopted by the United Nations, we develop and manufacture fuel supply systems and electric products that contribute to environmental conservation, and reduce waste (promotion of recycling, resource saving, energy saving, Green Procurement, Harmful
chemical substances), prevention of pollution, realization of a recycling-oriented society, and maintenance of biodiversity.

2. We will comply with laws, regulations, ordinances, and other requirements that we have agreed to, set voluntary standards as necessary, and strive to ensure a healthy and comfortable environment.

3. We will strive to disclose information on environmental conservation activities and practice and deepen communication with local communities.

4. We will establish and operate objectives and targets that reflect the various conditions of our business activities, and will also periodically evaluate and review the implementation status.

5. In order to improve our environmental performance, we regularly conduct ISO 14001 examinations, internal audits, and management reviews by an external examination organization, and strive to continuously improve our environmental management system.

6. We will thoroughly inform all personnel through education and enlightenment activities.

Quality Policy

In order to meet our customers’ satisfaction and trust, we have a strong commitment “Quality is the highest priority” in the products and services we provide.

Also, through the quality assurance activities, we feel a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment in manufacturing. “Catch the defective products within our hands” is indispensable to maintain and improve CS(customer satisfaction). Therefore, we have to transform our method of work and learn thoroughly from the failures. With professional pride, we will improve the level of pre-production quality assurance activity from the design stage. We will also continuously improve effectiveness of the Quality Management System.
